The silver, white, dusty, wax-like coating is known as bloom and acts as a barrier against pests and bacteria and is critical in sealing in the fruit’s moisture.

The scions arrived in good shape, with plenty of buds and with clear labeling. However, USPS shipping is not reliable. The package was delivered to us 8 days after it was shipped, enough time for the scions to emerge from dormancy. I grafted them immediately and am hoping for the best.
