Description
Leading cultivar in the Great Lakes region. An excellent quality prune plum suited for both home use or processing. A good pollinizer for other European varieties. This Prune Plum ripens early and late August. The fruit is large in size with a dark blue skin. Flesh is greenish-yellow, juicy & fine grained. It was developed by the New Yok State Experiment Station. European. Medium to large, oval, dark blue fruit with a thick bloom. Yellowish green, freestone flesh. Sweet, rich flavor. Excellent for fresh eating, canning, preserves and drying. Flesh turns purplish red when canned. Large, annual producer. Self-fertile.
Prune Plum is self-fertile. USDA Hardiness Zones: 4-9.
Plums do great in the Pacific Northwest.
