Description
This early season Japanese x Cherry Plum Hybrid ripens in July. The fruit is high quality, very sweet, meaty, freestone & small to medium in size with an attractive red blush and golden yellow ground color. Tree is vigorous, is heavy yeilding and is susceptible to leaf spot & black knot. It should be partnered with an early-blooming Japanese plum. It has an upright habit, is open grower and should be thinned to prevent biennial bearing. It originated as a chance seedling in Fonthill, Ontario, Canada, before 1946. Very cold hardy for a hybrid plum (to USDA zone 4).
