Description
X Sorbopyrus auricularis. A hybrid of a pear and the Whitebeam (Sorbus aria). Creamy melting flesh and pleasing mild flavor. Ripens in a later ripening window after Shipova. Possibly self-fertile but likely benefits from other flowering pears. This Whitebeam x Pear Hybrid is also called Baciu II. The fruit is medium sized & edible. Tree blooms late. It originated in Baciu near Cluj-Napoca, Romania. This variety is a triplod and therefore pollen sterile.
