Description
Similar to Santa Rosa in fruit and growth habit. This early season, fresh eating Japanese x Chickasaw Plum Hybrid ripens late June to early July and is also good for canning. The fruit is large, firm & high quality with dark red skin and yellow flesh. Tree is vigorous, is self-fertile, is heavy yeilding and flowers profusely. It is disease resistant and requires 700 chill hours. It has a has an upright habit vase shape consisting of narrow branch angles, has dark green leaves and is long lived. It originated in Auburn University. USDA Hardiness Zones: 6-8.
