Description
Named in 2018 by Oregon’s Home Orchard Society in memory of member Jerry Shroyer. This selection from Canada originated from a cross made in 1925. The fruit resembles a Seckel pear in size, shape, and coloration, although it tends to be slightly larger. Fruit ripens mid-September, and has superb texture and flavor. This Pear ripens mid Sept. The best dessert fruits have an exquisite sweet flavor., usually with a very soft flesh, whilst cooking varieties have harder less sweet flesh. |
